Currently April 2018: What’s going on this month for Life With My Littles
Hey mamas!!! Happy April! It’s finally spring and we had a FABULOUS month last month! Not only did Little J turn five and have the cutest birthday party at Home Depot, but “Preggers” came out! The reviews that have come in have seriously been so good! People are saying exactly what I had hoped they would when I wrote it, so that’s a great sign! My mother-in-law also came into town for a few days and we had fun showing her around Minneapolis! And also, my husband and I took our very first trip away from the kids! We went on a four night cruise and had my mom come stay with our kids. We went parasailing and jet skiing and swam in a cenote and with sea turtles. It was really fun and even though we missed the kids a lot, it was much needed and very refreshing. Since we went on a trip away, I had to wean Little R before we left. We had a really great breastfeeding journey, and it was sad for me to be done, but it ended well. Overall, we had a wonderful March!
Here’s what’s going on this month!
Planting our garden! Finally! We didn’t see the grass in our yard for a few months, and now that we can see it, I am LOVING it! Anyway, we have a really big yard so we are planning a huge garden. Like, massive. I’ll share pictures once things start growing, but guys, it’s going to be legit. And one of the most exciting parts (besides having fresh fruits and veggies whenever we want) is that I’m devoting one entire row to flowers. YES! I’m going to plant flowers so I can cut them and give them to friends and neighbors and put them in the kitchen and look at them every day. I’m so excited. So this month we’re going to get it all built and start planting, and I can hardly wait!
Taking a step back. So after not having access to my phone for a few days, I realized how much I enjoyed not using it. When I’m home I check my email like every thirty minutes, as if I’m really that important to get something so urgent it couldn’t be responded to in the evening when the kids are in bed. Anyway, I deleted my email off of my phone, and I also have tried to use Instagram less. I really like connecting with other moms and sharing posts, but I get like zero blog traffic from it and I also spend a lot of time working on it that I could be doing more important things for work or playing with my kids. So I’m going to try and take a step back and focus on more of what actually makes me money and what is important in my life.
Preparing to send “Preggers” to Barnes and Noble. Yup. The big goal for the year is to get my book on shelves at Barnes and Noble. So now that my book has been out for a month and I have a good feel for how it’s being received and what price I need to sell it at to be competitive, I’m going to make a few tiny little revisions (like one formatting thing and fix something tiny on the cover) and send it to Barnes and Noble. They say it takes three months to review it and decide, so I’m going to be doing a lot of hoping and praying during that time. I really believe in what I wrote and I really think it’s good, and so do other people, based on the reviews I’ve gotten, so I am absolutely getting my hopes up that they accept it and want to stock it. But it’s also terrifying!!!
Revisiting my 101 in 1001 list. Remember last June when I posted my “101 Things in 1001 Days” list? Well I sometimes forget about it so I’m trying to revisit it more and start working my way through it! One of the things is to start a collection, and I decided to start collecting vintages stamps, so that’s fun!
Registering my son for kindergarten. I have so many feelings about this. I’m sad he’s growing up and I’ll miss him at home during the day, excited because I know he’s going to love it and do amazing, nervous because I don’t want him to be exposed to anything bad, and I can’t believe that this is already happening! We go in two days to his school to get him registered, and it’s so crazy to me. KINDERGARTEN, guys!!!
That’s what’s going on over here this month!! I can’t believe it’s already April, but I’m super excited for warmer days!!! Melt that snow!!!
