These cranberry white chocolate chip lactation cookies work miracles! They are delicious, and the oatmeal combined with the dried cranberries and white chocolate chips is amazing! Plus the special ingredients really help boost your milk supply!
Well here’s a post I never thought I’d be sharing! Lactation cookies! And not just any lactation cookies–cranberry white chocolate chip lactation cookies!
I’ll be honest and tell you when I first heard about these, I thought they were ridiculous. But then my milk supply dropped and my son wasn’t gaining enough weight and I got desperate to try anything. I drank more water, I took some fenugreek pills, and I ate a few of these every day for a week, and it helped! So I don’t know for certain if they worked because they actually worked or if it was because of a placebo effect kind of deal, but honestly, I don’t care. And if you’re here looking for a lactation cookie recipe, I’m going to guess you don’t care either. These bad boys helped boost my milk supply and got us back on track. My 5-month-old is almost 18 pounds now so I’m pretty sure he’s getting enough food!
Now I originally tried a different lactation cookie recipe but found it wasn’t my favorite, so I thought I would mix it up, change a few things, and add in dried cranberries and white chocolate chips. Those two with the oatmeal are FAB.
I actually like these cookies so much that I froze all of the dough and just pop a few in the oven every few days. I don’t share them with my kids (they’re “Mommy cookies”) and even though they’ve tried them and liked them, I’m not wasting these delicious little treats on them. They definitely don’t need any help lactating, I can tell you that.
Anyway, these are super easy, super good, and like I said, freezable. Just scoop them on a cookie sheet, freeze them in balls, and then put them all in a ziploc bag and bake for like 2 extra minutes. Mmmm. You’re welcome.

I love cranberries and white chocolate together! These cookies look amazing and I’m not even lactating!
Chelsea Johnson says
They are delicious even if you aren’t! Although some of the ingredients probably aren’t necessary if you aren’t nursing haha! And the oatmeal with the cranberries and white chocolate makes it even better!
Katie Clark says
I totally thought lactation cookies were a crock too until I made a batch and they worked better than anything else I tried! These sound delicious!
Chelsea Johnson says
Right? I will never doubt them again!!!
Stacey says
Is it brewers yeast flakes or brewers yeast powder?
Chelsea Johnson says
I used powder. You could probably use flakes, but you might have to use more and it might change the texture or flavor of the cookies.

Love this recipe. It was actually pretty easy and yummy, so this is a must try
Chelsea Johnson says
Thanks!
Amanda says
I can’t have coconut oil what can I substitute
Chelsea Johnson says
You could try vegetable or canola oil, but it might not turn out the same. I haven’t tried it any other way, so I can’t help a ton with that! Sorry!
Tien says
Is your recipe really 12 Tbsp of butter or was it a typo? Sorry I’m pretty new to baking and don’t want to mess it up 🙂
Chelsea Johnson says
No, that’s right 🙂 That much butter helps make everything stick together.
Jenny says
Hi, can I replace coconut oil with other oil or skip this part?
Chelsea Johnson says
I wouldn’t skip it. Your cookies will definitely be too dry if you skip it. I haven’t tried a different kind of oil, but if you try it and it works, let me know!
Mariann says
Hi! Do you just drop them on cookie sheet or flatten them some? Also can you freeze baked cookies or just better to freeze dough? I have made them before for World Breastfeeding Week at our hospital and they were delicious!
Chelsea Johnson says
I just drop them on the cookie sheet! And when I freeze them, I freeze the dough. I drop balls of cookie dough onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, freeze them for a few hours on the tray, and then put them in a ziploc bag and keep them in the freezer! Thanks, Mariann!
Amanda says
Ok so I made these with canola oil instead of coconut oil but I also added 4 more tbsp of butter so I did 16 instead of 12 and they are moist and amazing just in case anyone can’t use the coconut oil like me
Chelsea Johnson says
Thank you so much for coming back and letting me know! I hope it helps someone else in the future!!
Jenny says
Can i leave out the cinnamon??
Chelsea Johnson says
You can, but unless you’re allergic or really hate cinnamon, I wouldn’t. It’s not super noticeable but it gives them an extra boost of flavor!
Alyssa Nickels says
Made these today and theyre SO GOOD. You cant taste the brewers yeast like some other recipes. Tiny alteration, i subbed 1/4 cup of the white chocolate for almond slivers to pack in more breastfeeding super foods and they are heavenly.
Chelsea Johnson says
What a great idea! I’m allergic to almonds so that wouldn’t have worked for me, but I’m glad you liked them! Thanks, Alyssa!
Alyssa Nickels says
I forgot to rate this recipe on my first comment, whoops! So here is the 5 star rating.
Chelsea Johnson says
Thank you!
Asma says
Wow!! I can’t wait to try. I’m going to trader joe to get all the ingredients. I pray them Have them all.
Chelsea Johnson says
I’m not sure you’ll be able to find them all at Trader Joe’s! But good luck!
Wendy says
If you’re baking the frozen batch, how long do you bake them for? The recipe is super tasty! I did sub the cinnamon for orange zest only because I really like orange flavor, but your original recipe turned out great the first time around!
Chelsea Johnson says
Thanks Wendy! And I usually only bake them for a minute or two longer. I would just check on them and see what you think while they’re baking. Thanks for the feedback!
Amy White says
I found that the mixture was very dry after all ingredients were all mixed together making it very hard for to to bind together. Making the end result very crumbly.
Chelsea Johnson says
Did you put in enough butter? It is kind of crumbly, but it shouldn’t be so crumbly that it doesn’t even bind.
Louise says
3.5 Easy to follow. I had nutritional yeast flakes so used that instead of the powder. I found these waay too sweet and i only did 1 1/4c of sugar i know they’re cookies so they’re supposed to be sweet but it took away from the oaty and cranberry flavours. Also the white chocolate made it extra sweet too. Probably would.do less sugar if i made them again and would try the orange zest like other commenter to bring down the sweetness
Chelsea Johnson says
Thanks for sharing, Louise! I’m a big sweet tooth, so I thought they were perfect, but I get that you might think they were too sweet!
