Currently: What’s going on this month for Life With My Littles
Oh boy did we have a big month! May was definitely the biggest month our family had (and probably will have) all year!
Last month we made the big move from Idaho to Texas, we moved into our very first HOUSE, and my husband graduated from medical school!! We have a few weeks left until he starts residency here in Texas, so we’ve been trying to enjoy our “summer break” as much as we can before real life starts.
Here’s what’s going on for us this month:
Personalizing our new house! It has been so much fun having a house. I have been loving actually decorating. We’ve always lived in apartments so I’ve never really felt like I could customize our space. We saved our tax return this year just for buying things for our house, and it has been so much fun searching Pinterest for ideas and making them a reality in our home. I’m planning on doing a home tour post once I complete everything, but that may be a few months away because I’m only putting things into my house that I love. It’s out space and I’m making it perfect.
Writing my book. I know I’ve mentioned this in Currently posts before, but guys, it’s going so well. I am loving it. I’m in the middle of the second section right now and every time I sit down to write I have a hard time stopping. On Word it’s at like 20-something pages so far, and I still have three more sections left after this one. Here’s to hoping it’s as successful as I hope it will be!
Visiting as many fun places here as we can before residency officially starts. We got a SeaWorld season pass so we’ve been there a few times already (p.s. the new Discovery Point is AMAZING! I love dolphins!). We’re planning on going to Six Flags and Schlitterbahn this month, and maybe even the beach even though it’s a ways away. We’ve also been to the zoo and the Alamo and Riverwalk already, too. There are so many amazing fun things to do here, and I am already in love with this place!
Watching our plants grow. We planed our garden a few months before we moved. Before our moving truck even got here, we built our raised bed and planted our garden. And guys, it’s growing like crazy! We have watermelon and cantaloupe (crazy, right!?), green onions, serrano and bell peppers, two kinds of tomatoes, beans, and basil. Plus, we also planted a mandarin orange tree and two grape plants. It’s been fun teaching our kids about how the plants are growing and how we have to water them. I can hardly wait for them to start having fruit and veggies for us to show the kids and eat together!
Relaxing on the back patio and watching the kids play on their new playset. I’m actually doing that right this minute (yay for wifi!). We bought just a little Step 2 playset a few weeks ago and it has been perfect. It’s not big enough that I have to worry about them falling off and getting hurt, and it doesn’t take up our whole backyard, either. Plus even though it’s been humid and rainy here, most days aren’t super hot so sitting back here feels pretty good. Having a yard is the bomb.
Working on working out. I shared on my Instagram last month that one of my goals for May was to run two times a week. I set the bar low thinking that I would be able to achieve it and guess what? I did not run once in May. It has been hard getting into any type of routine because all month we’ve been trying to get settled and doing fun things together. But I’m hoping that in June things will at least slow down a little and I can finally go running. And then in July once my husband starts residency we’ll get our routine back and I’ll definitely figure it out. But for now, it’s a work in progress.
That’s it for me today! Hope you guys have a great start to your summer and hooray for June!

Thanks, Tiffany! It really has been so crazy and busy but I’m glad we don’t have any more trips coming up anymore. They were super fun, but I’m excited to just stay home!!
