Some moments are just for you and you don’t have to take pictures of everything your kids do!
I love taking pictures. I love my adorable children. So naturally, I love taking pictures of my adorable children. And I love sharing those pictures with my friends and family. But recently, I haven’t been sharing as many pictures, or even taking as many.
Last month, I decided that some moments are just for me. Some smiles are given just to me, some precious scenes happen just for my eyes. I don’t always have to whip out my camera when I see my son lay down and play with Little A under her jungle gym toy. I don’t always have to grab my iPhone when Little J is doing something funny like putting raisins and cereal inside his toy cars.
I don’t always want to see these perfect moments through the lens of my camera. Sometimes I just want to enjoy them and be happy in that moment. If I always am looking at my children through the lens of the camera, I don’t think I’m really enjoying these special moments as they are happening.
Yes, I may forget some of these moments years later because there aren’t pictures of them, but that’s okay. Am I really going to sit down and go through every picture years later anyway? For now I’ll take a few pictures of the things that really matter, but not every picture has to be perfect and not every cute thing my littles do has to be documented.
Some moments are just for you, and I am going to enjoy them and hold them close to my heart.

Wow…this is the second article I have read on this tonight. Found you while browsing through my Pinterest feed and the other in my Facebook feed. I know I needed a check because I do it so much! Living far from family, I share because they don’t get to see their grandchildren/nieces. I am learning that not every moment needs to be shared. So without you even knowing me, you have confirmed changes that I need to make. So, thank you. You have definitely gained a new follower!

We live far from family, too. It can be hard to find a balance between getting pictures for family and getting too many pictures. But it definitely takes some pressure off and helps you just enjoy moments when you aren’t constantly worried about getting pictures! Thanks so much!
